Innovative Financing Solution
Spurs Renewable Energy Investment

Carbondale, Colorado has installed a 52 Kilowatt (kW) photovoltaic system on its brand
new LEED certified* recreation center. The system is artfully integrated into the building’s architecture, will generate 77,720 kilowatt-hours (kWh) every year from its own rooftop and represents two-thirds of the building’s annual electrical energy consumption.

Going Solar
Having earned a Masters degree in solar architecture from Arizona State University in 1977, Carbondale’s Ken Olson can legitimately claim three decades of solar-energy advocacy, engenieering and education. He co-founded Carbondale’s Solar Energy International in 1991 and, in 2003, started Sol Energy, a renewable-energy contracting and consulting firm.
