PV 250, Lesson 4
Solar Site Analysis

Learning Objectives

SolarSite Analysis
We demostrated the use of a Solar Pathfinder on site. Although photos are shown of the Pathfinder used on the ground, the Pathfinder analysis was performed from the roof where the PV modules were installed.

This site was pretty tricky in that all locations on the ground had severe shading. The roof was unshaded from 8 AM until at least 3:00 PM. Although the roof faces SouthWest, less than ideal, this was the most reasonable choice for locating the PV array. Once Mike begins collecting performance data we will be able to better estimate the magnitude of the penalty for being off True South.
